MySpace Sues Spam King Sanford Wallace
Wallace is an old name popping up in a new context. Notorious for choking email boxes with his spam, Wallace is now being sued by MySpace in the U.S. District Court in Los Angeles for creating 11,000 fake profiles in violation of the 2003 Can-Spam act. We've complained frequently here about how fake profiles and the spam they generate are destroying genuine communication on MySpace. Technical efforts by MySpace only the likes of Sanford Wallace or ProfileWatcher before they figure out new ways to choke our inboxes again. Singling out the most egregious spammers for legal punishment is a high profile move akin to the slap at Tila Tequila for hosting Hoooka.
