Victory Records Launches MySpace Music Player

"Victory Records, Inc., the top independent rock label in the United States, announces the beta release of VictorStream, the first, proprietary, record label focused digital media player."

VictoryStream is yet another social networking profile and blogging add-on in a long parade. We don't blame them for bringing their artists to where the fans socialize. The player itself is Flash-driven and slickly packs a lot of marketing into a small space. Users can scroll through dozens of complete tracks; some are music videos. The tracks cannot be downloaded or purchased directly. Links bring users to merchandise or music stores to buy the related items. It's not clear if this indirection is enough to satisfy MySpace's ToS. Snocap is the only MySpace authorized music seller. Other links direct users to the iTunes store for VictorV.tv and their label social network VictorMe.
